Submitted results from Monday's MISD 7th grade basketball games:

7th Grade Boys: Dowell Sweeps Cockrill

Dowell won all three games from Cockrill on Monday night.

Dowell won the C-game 33-27. Dowell Gold's Player of the Game was Gustavo Franco.

Dowell won the B-game 33-15. Dowell White's Player of the Game was Jack Delaney.

Dowell won the A-game, 48-33. Dowell Blue's Players of the Game were Harry Wiginton and Braydon Webb.

7th Grade Girls: Lionettes Take All Three From Cowgirls

The Dowell Lionettes Seventh grade basketball teams won each of their battles against the Cockrill Cowgirls on Tuesday.

The Dowell White “C” team got off to a slow start, coming back steady and chipped away to take a commanding win, 33-18. Outstanding players for this game were Kylan Michael for offensive player with 9 points, Victoria Parish for defensive player with 5 rebounds and 2 steals, and Skye Ward for overall player of the game with 6 points, 4 steals and 2 rebounds.

The Dowell Gold “A” team struggled to keep a hold of the game, finishing strong with 30-24. Overall defensive player was Jillian Duffin with 3 steals and 5 rebounds, outstanding offensive player was Taylor Allen with 9 points, and Jordan Helterbrand with 4 points, 3 steals and 3 assists.

Closing out the evening, the Dowell Blue “B” team took off running with their win, 28-8. Outstanding all-around players for this game were Deja Greer for defensive player with 7 steals and 4 rebounds, Lauren Folsom for offensive player with 11 points and Mandy Wallner for overall action with 6 points, 2 steals and 6 rebounds.

Next game for Dowell  is against the Denison Jackets on January 31st at Denison, starting at 5 p.m.. Dowell's Blue “B” team came away with 3rd place in their tournament this past weekend and the White “C” team will play in their tournament this coming weekend, starting at 8 p.m. on Friday at Johnson Middle School.
