The Marquettes represented McKinney High School very well and received the highest honor possible at the Danceline competition this Feb 26th, 2011. With over 21 high schools and 3 studios in competition, the students of MHS cleaned up and made a lasting impression on everyone.
- Ashton Shawver was one of 7 solo finalists out of over 100 soloist. Jenny Jagours was placed in the top 5 in the technique challenge of leaps. Our elite group took first out of all competing large ensembles with their hip hop routine.
- Our officers and team earned a sweepstakes award, scoring 90 or better from all judges for all routines entered.
- Our team earned Danceline Gold, signifying that they scored 95 or better from every judge on every routine entered.
- The team earned top score/best in category in novelty and hip hop. The team received the highest score in their category with their lyrical.
- Finally the McKinney Marquettes were named Grand Champions in the largest and most difficult division earning a trophy and a $500 scholarship to any Danceline competition.
