Highland Park Sweeps Cockrill In 8th Grade Boys Hoops

The Cockrill Cowboys lost three games against Highland Park in eighth grade boys basketball on Tuesday.

The "C" team started things out right with a great defense effort. The team played with great tenacity and ended up falling to HP 22-16. The coaches were very proud of their teamwork and hustle in a tough loss to a good opponent.

The "A" and "B" teams both played hard but fell to a very good Highland Park Team but could not overcome controversial calls during both games.

The "A" Team lost 48-26. The team ran into a deficit early and could not make enough stops to be able to come back. Leading Scorer was Malachi Polk with 14, followed by Zaylon Sabes and Justynn Hardaway with 3.

The "B" team lost 33-16. Leading Scorers were Brain Jenkins with 10, Derek Templeman, Nick Hutchins and Carson Reimer with 2.
