Live Shark Feedings at Museum of Nature & Science Fair Park
MNS Science Building lobby (1318 South Second Avenue in Fair Park)
Wednesdays and Fridays weekly, 11 a.m. (through Sept. 14, 2012)
What do sharks eat, and how often do they get hungry? Learn about their diets and see twice-weekly live shark feedings. Temporarily moved from the Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park, three live sharks are housed in a 515-gallon two-tank aquarium, including a White Spotted Bamboo Shark (Chiloscyllium plagiosum), an Epaulette Shark (Hemiscyllium ocellatum) and a Coral Catshark (Atelomycterus mormoratus). The sharks will be on display through the duration of Planet Shark: Predator or Prey. An aquarist will be on hand to answer questions before and after the feedings and talk about the sharks, making it a popular interactive activity.
FREE for MNS members and included with the cost of general exhibits admission for non-members.
