Social gaming giant Zynga is closing down that McKinney branch and moving its employees to the Dallas office, techcrunch.com posted on Monday.

This is one of several moves nationwide by the online gaming company, which is known mainly for its "With Friends" games such as "Words With Friends."

The company had been active locally in McKinney, as you can read in some of TSB's reports by clicking here and here.

A real shame to see this. I remember when New Toy was creating Words with Friends in the suite next to mine at at the Mckinney Flour Mill. Amazing to know a few guys working mostly at night could create a game that became such a sensation. Of course selling out to Zynga filled their pockets, but also lost control of their wonderful little success story.
