Kelso Sentenced To 20 Years for Area Home Burglaries

TSB Staff, Community Links

A 62-year-old Parker man arrested last May hoarded more than 200 guns and hundreds of stolen watches after years of burglarizing homes, authorities say. Paul Kelso was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Friday, which was the maximum sentence.

TSB first reported on Kelso's arrest on May 24, 2012 after police conducted a search warrant on his residence. However, Kelso was first arrested in November, 2011, after he broke into a McKinney home while the owner's 22-year-old daughter was inside. According to The Dallas Morning News, the daughter called 911 and Kelso was arrested while leaving the house. A nine-month investigation ensued.

Is this the person who was burglarizing homes last year? Were those crimes ever solved?

Hey Lucy - The short answer is yes, at least to the majority of the home burglaries around town throughout 2011 and 2012. It took police months to sort through the stolen items, mostly weapons, and have them returned to the owners.
