Buzz TV: Turtle Creek Chorale Concert

By Matthew Bado, TSB Staff

Nearly 80 voices of the famed Turtle Creek Chorale performed a poignant and heartfelt concert for audiences of all ages at the McKinney Performing Arts Center on Saturday, Dec. 15. The Comfort & Joy concert, lasting a little over an hour, featured plenty of carols, both traditional and new. Threaded in between songs, the chorale shared fond Christmas memories of years past, and the crowd was treated to a guest appearance by a tap dancing Frosty.

The McKinney Performing Arts Center's intimate Courtroom Theater offered the perfect setting to serve up the Chorale's spectacular sound. Audiences laughed and cried, especially when the Chorale gave an emotional tribute to the lives lost in Newtown, Conn. the day prior. The families and lives lost were ever present as the Chorale performed their signature holiday numbers, a signed version of Silent Night and Peace, Peace.
