The balmy weather on Saturday evening made it seem like it was an evening in September, however, the 30 plus floats portraying "Christmas at the Movies" themes during the annual McKinney Rotary Parade of Lights were a reminder that the holidays are upon us.
The atmosphere in downtown McKinney had thousands of parade viewers, six or seven deep in some areas of the square, in a festive mood as floats slowly rolled by, featuring everything from the "Nutcracker" to the "Grinch that Stole Christmas". Little ones in the crowd ooed and ahhed over the sight of the gymnasts tumbling down the street and the shiny vintage cars.
Of course, that jolly old elf, Santa, paid a special visit to McKinney from the North Pole in order to be part of the parade.
