Kerry Edwards, a former McKinney North soccer standout, was named to the NCAA 2012 Daktronics Division II All-South Central Region Team, as nominated and voted by the region sports information directors.
Edwards, who graduated from MNHS in 2011, is one of four Dallas Baptist Patriots who were selected to the South Central Region First Team, the highest total of any team in the region. Edwards is joined by Heartland Offensive Player of the Year, Danielle Presley, and sophomore Lea Sedwick and senior Andrea Hutchins.
Edwards finished the season with a record of 18-3 in goal. She led the Patriots to 12 shutouts and allowed only 16 goals while playing 1874 minutes in goal.
The South Central Region is comprised of all the Divison II programs in Texas, New Mexico and Colorado. All four of the Patriots' first team selections will now be nominated for All-American honors, which will be announced Wednesday, Nov. 28.
