The McKinney Boyd Bailadoras have already been recognized by the McKinney City Council for their national championship accomplishment. At Tuesday night’s regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of McKinney ISD it was now the school district’s turn.
As previously reported by TownSquareBuzz.com, the Bailadoras were named champions at the Showtime National Drill Team Championship in Galveston. (To see the full story click here.)
“It always seems to be the case when I am here at the School Board that I am recognizing great kids and tonight is no exception,” said MISD Director of Fine Arts Roy Renzenbrink.
According to Renzenbrink, The UIL does not organize Drill Team competitions, so all three McKinney high school teams must seek out there own competitions. “The Showtime National Drill Team Championship is one of the best known and thought of competition to enter," he said. "I am very proud and honored to recognize the McKinney Boyd Bailadora Drill Team and to honor them for earning the right to be named National Champions in their division,” he said.
The Bailadora officers were present at the school board meeting to receive the recognition and a plaque.

These girls are the best. I am so proud to be a parent of 2 daughters who are going through and have gone through this program. Nothing but the best to Ms Dunn and these ladies for all of their efforts. Not only do they have talent, but there were also quite a few who were honored at the National Honor Society induction at Boyd a couple weeks back. The time and effort these girls put in is truly amazing.
