Nearly 200 guests turned out to help North Collin County Habitat for Humanity celebrate their 20th Anniversary Birthday Bash on Saturday evening, October 20, at ReStore. Donors and volunteers were recognized and honored following dinner, which was supplied by Habitat's partners.
Established in McKinney in 1992 as McKinney Habitat for Humanity, Inc. the organization became North Collin County Habitat for Humanity (NCCHFH) in 2002. To date, NCCHFH has built 64 homes since 1992, including seven homes during the 2012 building blitz.
NCCHFH President Larry Pietenpol told guests that the organization will build their first home in Blue Ridge in 2013. The non-profit organization now employees 22 full and part time workers.
The mission of the North Collin County Habitat for Humanity is to work in partnership with God and His people to develop communities by enabling families to achieve the dream of homeownership with dignity.
