McKinney had the highest rate of requests asking that Abbott allow the withholding of documents sought by citizens under the Texas Public Information Act. Next up were McAllen, Garland, Mesquite, Plano and Arlington.

Good Morning BillSpizzirri, I just wanted to take time to write that you were one of the reasons I decided to join this forum. I love the high level of intelligence you demonstrate in your timely observations. Are you a professor of sorts in the left wing liberal movement? I especially enjoy your perfect sense of humor in insulting others and getting others off subject. Currently I am one of those undecided voters but am inclinded now to vote for Obama (I did not the last election) simply because of all the great things I have learned from your brilliant postings. Keep up the great work in demonstrating to others what kind of cooperation we can expect from the Dem party for the next four years in insuring Obama is reelected.
Thank you for the sarcasm and levity...I respect the response. However, if you do look back you will find I have not insulted anyone. I tend to offer a counter opinion and in most cases I respond with some sarcasm. If you look at many of the posters back to me, you will actually see insults and name calling. In this posting however I was actually looking for some input as to what I am missing in the fact that McKinney ranks the highest in having state government block public access to documents and information, while screaming for 1st Amendment rights and hands off government. It seems contradictory to me, so I was looking for additional input as to what I am missing. I'm glad you joined the forum!
I have been viewing TQB for some time now and decided to try my hand at posting on a forum. It is all new to me. I was curious in observing in all the chatter about the firing of the chief, that many posters that seemed to side with our city manager, Mr. Gray, their postings were purposely deleted. There were no bad words in their postings supporting our City Manager, yet they were deleted to give the appearance that the majority of McKinney citizens were in favor of keeping what seems might have been a really poor administrator as a Police Chief. Wonder...why was that? Also is it possible that a city filled with so many college grads actually use poor judgement in their city elections in voting for the majority of members on their city council? It seems these very citizen voters were angry with their voted council members because they chose to back their city manager in his decision to fire this Chief of Police. Why were they so angry? It seems to me the city manager was just taking advantage of modern day media tools in his announcement. Prior to the notification he did speak with the Chief, did he not?
hmmm ... in light of everything going on at city hall ... now this report ... maybe it's time to call the movers and get the hell out of Dodge?
Interesting. I always thought one of the basic tenets of the Tea Party and far right wing principles was abiding by the Constitution and in particular the 1st Amendment. Also so many cries of less government and leave us alone, yet here McKinney is leading the way for requesting the state government to withhold information from the public. I'm sure I will be slammed here, however if someone can explain what I'm missing I certainly would appreciate it.
