TSB looks at Friday night's volleyball results from around MISD.
McKinney North defeated Sherman on the road 3-0 to improve to 3-4 in District 13-4A. The scores for the Varsity match were 25-18, 25-21, and 25-17. Courtney Kankel, who had a break out night with a season high 16 kills and hit .557 offensively on the night, led the Lady Bulldogs. She also contributed four blocks at the net, while Allison Camp added nine kills. Lindsey Denne led the team in assists in her first varsity start in district play, contributing 34 assists. Darby Maclea led the team defensively with six digs and two aces.
North returns home to play Greenville on Tuesday as the second round of district play begins. Game time is 6 p.m.
The Lady Broncos defeated Allen at home 3-0. The scores of the match were 25-15, 25-22, and 25-23. Boyd improved to 2-1 in District 10-5A play, only one game behind 3-0 Plano West.
Boyd will travel to Plano East on Tuesday night. Game time is 7 p.m.
MHS lost a tough road match at Plano West 3-0. The scores of the match were 25-17, 25-20, and 25-13. The Lionettes fell to 0-3 in District 10-5A and are tied with Allen for last place in the standings.
The Lady Eagles will travel up north to battle the Lionettes on Tuesday night. Game time is 7 p.m.
