McKinney High defeated North Garland on the road 41-18 to stay undefeated on the young season and improve to 4-0.
The Lions used a 21-point third quarter to seal the victory behind a T.V. William 37-yard pass to Connor Fuentes, a 24-yard fumble return, and a Robert Somborn 40-yard pass to Jonathan Shannon.
Somborn continued to light up the stat sheet, throwing for 310 yards on 20-of-29 passing and four touchdowns with no interceptions. Shannon led the team in rushing with 54 yards on 10 carries, while Antonio Oliver was second with 42 yards on six carries.
Fuentes had a huge day receiving, catching nine passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns. Shannon had 43 yards receiving and two touchdowns, while Dalon Willis caught a 16-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. Williams caught five passes for 45 yards.
The Lion defense shut North Garland down offensively through the air, with both quarterbacks Rodarius Mosley and Chad Wesley combining for 6-of-18 passing for 93 yards. On the ground, running back Aaron Johnson had a game-high 106 yards on 18 carries and a touchdown. Running back George Perry had a five-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
MHS will look to complete a perfect non-district season when the Lions return home to face Denton Ryan next Friday night at Ron Poe Stadium. Kick off is set for 7 p.m.
