Smiles Charity has been nominated in the 2012 Chase Community Giving Contest. Chase Bank is donating $5 million to local charities around the country. Winners are determined by online voting from September 6 – September 19. The 196 charities with the most votes will split $5 million in grants ranging from $10,000 up to $250,000.
Chase Bank asked their customers and employees to nominate their favorite charity between June 12 and July 9. Chase Bank then contacted the eligible nominees and invited them to be a part of the program. Smiles Charity was one of the hundreds of charities that accepted their nomination before August 30th. By accepting the nomination by that date, Smiles Charity will automatically share in $2.5 million in early acceptance grants. All eligible charities have now moved on to the voting phase of the contest to vie for a piece of an additional $5 million.
Supporters can vote for Smiles Charity through Facebook by going to http://facebook.com/chasecommunitygiving and searching for “Smiles Charity”. Chase customers can cast an additional vote at www.chasegiving.com. The contest allows each user two votes, which must be used for two different charities. Smiles Charity’s partner, Operation Finally Home, has also been nominated in this contest. Smiles Charity asks that when you cast your vote for them, that you cast your second vote for Operation Finally Home by searching for “BABA Support”.
About Smiles Charity.
Smiles Charity was founded in 2008 to help build homes for local families in need, with current housing projects for wounded veterans. The results are tangible: Six homes have been built and two more homes will be started in 2012. Its mission is to bring the community together to change the world one home, one family at a time.
