McKinney Democrats: Are You Fired Up; Ready to Go?

By Matthew Bado [OPINION]

Please excuse this political interruption.  Labor Day weekend marks the official start of the election season.  Yes, Democrats in Texas are hard to come by, but you would be surprised how many of us are out there in McKinney, Allen and Frisco working to re-elect President Obama.   If you're one of them and you're not already plugged in, I invite you to get fired up.

WE'RE FIRED UP, READY TO GO!

The Obama/Biden re-election campaign has the most advanced campaign organizing operation in the history of political campaigns.  We use an online platform, called DASHBOARD, to connect with each other, make phone calls, organize events and more!

Here are four areas where we need help:

1. Voter registration: We need help with registering local residents to vote. We are organizing dozens of voter registration drives at regional high schools and high traffic shopping centers and events between now and October 6.

2. Phone Calls: We are making calls to undecided voters in critical states to help them swing right over to the president's camp.

3. Data Entry: If you like working behind the scenes, we need help entering information in the campaign's online database.

4. Canvassing: Believe it or not, we will be canvassing area neighborhoods to get out the vote. As a reminder, Mr. Jack Ternan is running for the Texas Senate and Paul Sadler is running for U.S. Senate.

The Democratic National Convention begins Tuesday.  Join us at one of many watch parties to get to know other Democrats in the area and watch the President's speech on Thursday.

If you are FIRED UP; READY TO GO...join DASHBOARD today and get plugged in to re-elect President Obama and Vice President Biden.

I find it interesting that you could be charged with a felony for killing a bald eagle embryo but not a human one and secondly it seems more people are concerbed with what Romney does with his money and not what Obama has done with ours. Everyone pay their "fair share" when half of the country pays NONE ??? Really?

Loved the story about that sweet woman from Greenwood, SC who started the chant "Fired Up! Ready to Go!" in a small crowd of no more than 20 people who turned out to see and hear Barack Obama! It is the common average people who make our nation so great with their understanding of issues they care about and who believe in working together to improve the lives of all people--not just a privileged few. Vote this Nov for the candidates for President and Congress whose core values and beliefs inspire a nation to work hard and seek solutions to common problems. Our democracy depends on informed voters who care about America.
