The American Heart Association’s HeartChase debuts in downtown McKinney on Saturday, Aug. 18. This new program offers the community a creative way to explore the city while contributing to an important cause.
HeartChase participants are encouraged to explore their city while raising money to support the American Heart Association. The event takes several teams on a race through historic downtown McKinney as they solve clues to complete checkpoints in the quickest time possible. The goal is to beat the other teams and be named as HeartChase champions.
“At check points, HeartChase teams will encounter challenges like 3-legged races, learning a quick exercise routine or finding things in the community that participants never knew existed. It’s a new kind of event that combines fun for all fitness and age levels while supporting a worthy cause,” said Main Street Director Ty Lake.
Community members can volunteer to support the event, participate in the actual race on a team, or just contribute to the American Heart Association. For more information on joining a team or volunteering, please visit www.downtownmckinney.com or call McKinney Main Street at 972-547-2660.
