Mickey Mantle World Series - August 2-5
Nine of the top 16-year-old baseball teams from the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, including our own host team, Frozen Ropes, are here in McKinney this week for the 17th annual Mickey Mantle World Series. For $6 a game ($25 for the entire week), join the Boys of Summer at Al Alford Field (White and Redbud) to watch some of the top ballplayers in their age bracket (16U) from across the United States and abroad play right here in McKinney.
Return To Calamity Gulch - August 3-4
Enjoy a popcorn-throwing good time for the whole family. The players of the McKinney Repertory Theatre take the MPAC stage for their annual melodrama production that will have you cheering the heroine and pelting the villain with popcorn, all while laughing at the antics and enjoying the sound effects from the Might Wurlitzer Pipe Organ. Tickets are $16.50 for adults (plus ticket fee); reduced rates for students and seniors HERE. (Continues next weekend at the McKinney Performing Arts Center.)
Melon Dash - August 4
Located at and coinciding with the Chestnut Square Farmers Market, this race showcases the charm of McKinney, including its shady historic district streets. Whether you live near or far, the Melon Dash is going to be the highlight of late summer running in North Texas. Chestnut Square will be packed with refreshments and participants will have the opportunity to stroll through the Farmers Market at the conclusion of the race.
