It's called MC2Life, which stands for "Music Can Change Life" and it will raise funds for children in need in the local community.
As a result, the McKinney Boyd Band hopes its Aug. 2 charity concert will assist the Children and Community Health Center in McKinney.
The event is currently scheduled for August 2nd from 6-7:30 pm at the McKinney Boyd auditorium.
The Children and Community Health Center in McKinney serves Collin County, starting form Allen going north up to Farmersville. They are also a international organization. The health center attends to patients, kids like us and adults, that do not have insurance, medicaid, medicare, and live on a low income ($30,000 or less for a family of four). The money raised will also go to a specific need. They are in need of insulin for treating diabetic patients, very expensive for them to maintain nowadays with the serving population doubling. They serve roughly 800 patients a year, yet receive 3,000 calls which have to be denied with a lack of money and support. Also their capacity is planning to double to 6,000 patients.
