McKinney's 2012 National Night Out (NNO) will be held on Tuesday, August 7. National Night Out is a fun way to get to know your neighbors, increase neighborhood spirit, improve police-community partnerships and keep our city safer.
The NNO event, sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, is a neighborhood crime and drug
prevention event that occurs annually on the first Tuesday in August. It is celebrated in every city, town and
village in the U.S.
The McKinney Police Department coordinates participation annually with groups throughout the city. In addition to increasing awareness of crime and drug prevention programs, NNO also strengthens neighborhood spirit and community-police partnerships, while sending a message to criminals that "neighborhoods are organized and fighting back against crime!"
Register your Block Party today or talk to your Crime Watch Captain to find out about events in your neighborhood. If your neighborhood doesn't have a Crime Watch Captain, call Officer Randy Haak at 972-547-2795 for more information about the program.
