Editor's Note: Town Square Buzz is proud to announce a new series for Buzz TV called "Reel McKinney," which will feature shows about entertainment, sports, local personalities, the younger generation, and hot topics in the news. Besides being your primary written and photographic source for all things McKinney, we are going to be your local "TV" station right here on the web.
We are pleased that TSB features writer Michele Stevens Bernard, in conjunction with videographer Matt Madoni, debuts the first of our themed "Reel McKinney" shows today as we begin this new journey with you. You'll see more shows debut in the coming days and weeks.
Presenting `The Good Life' for your viewing pleasure. Take it away, Michele ...
What does it mean to live The Good Life? For some, it means the enjoyment of a certain lifestyle, while for others, it's more about actively participating in a favorite form of entertainment or hobby. For many, its all about sharing time and talent with those around them, while others experience it when chasing a dream. Here in McKinney, you don't have to look far to find someone living their good life by doing any or all of the above.
TownSquareBuzz.com's new video series, "Reel McKinney," includes my show, called The Good Life. We will explore the many ways one can enjoy McKinney's unique lifestyle. The series is hosted by yours truly, and together, we will spend quality time getting to know McKinney's arts and entertainment scene. We will learn more about they many past-times folks in this neck of the woods enjoy. We will meet the people, visit the places and do the things that are at the heart and soul of the Good Life right here in McKinney, Texas.
In this week's episode, we meet veteran entertainer Buzz Andrews, and young singer-songwriter Kate Cherry to learn more about the Open Mic Phenomenon that each Thursday night, turns downtown McKinney into one of the hippest places this side of Austin to catch fresh live music in multiple venues.
Let's join Buzz and Kate downtown, where on any given Thursday night, stages around the square open their microphones to any and all who choose to grace us with a song.

Just another example of the town of McKinney supporting and promoting entertainment for their community. This place is far ahead of the pack when it comes to providing things to do around the old town square. Many downtown areas have passed away.... not McKinney... Great job, McKinney your downtown is alive and well....
Thank you PB and I most certainly agree - McKinney sets the bar and is far ahead of the pack when it comes to providing things to do. Truly a great place to live, work and play. M:)
