Johnny Jerome Cochran has been jailed on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after using a pistol to shoot his younger brother around 6 a.m Thursday morning, authorities said.
Family members in the home told authorities that the two brothers had been fighting all night over a family matter at the home off County Road 408 and New Hope Road. The sheriff's department responded to a call and found Johnny Geron Morris, 22, had been shot in the left forearm. Morris was hospitalized at Medical Center of McKinney.
Authorities said the 23-year-old Cochran ran from the home on CR 408 in New Hope. He was arrested about three football fields in distance south of the house, where he was hiding in the brush.
