Jim Lites, President and CEO of the Dallas Stars hockey team, is reputed to be one the finest administrators in professional sports. Responsible for all aspects of the Dallas Stars hockey and business operations, Lites reports directly to owner Tom Gaglardi.
Lites will keynote the McKinney Chamber's CEO Series on July 24.
Lites also returns as an Alternate Governor on the NHL’s Board of Governors, a role he held from 1982-2007. Over the years, Lites has served on the Board’s marketing, broadcasting, expansion and game committees. Prior to coming to the Stars organization, Lites served 11 years as Chief Operating Officer of the Detroit Red Wings who won three Norris Division Championships and two Norris Division Playoff Championships during his tenure there.
His discussion topics at the CEO Series luncheon will include personal experiences in the sports industry and with the Dallas Stars, as well as how to create a following and build a team from bankruptcy. His commentary, sports affiliated or not, can be related to many types of business.
