House District 67 candidate Jon Cole responded to second place candidate Jeff Leach’s accusation of a push poll as “absurd” and “bizarre.”
Leach's campaign submitted a recent press release to TSB and other media outlets that included statements to which Cole took exception. In case you missed the previous story, please click here.
“My campaign is not push polling this week - or doing any polling, period. Sadly, this is not the first time Jeff Leach has tried to put one over on athe voters and sadly, I’m sure it won’t be the last,” Cole said.
“To borrow a line from President Reagan, ‘There you go again.’
“Jeff Leach has made it a habit to throw around false accusations – this time he should own up and issue an immediate apology for doing so. “
Last fall, Jeff Leach put out a list of supporters implying that these were local people supporting his campaign when the truth was the vast majority of the names listed were not even residents of Collin County, much less House District 67 voters.
Then during the primary campaign, Leach was caught by the Quorum Report saying one thing to lobbyists in Austin and another to Collin County residents. Linked here.
“I’m proud that my volunteers and supporters have made my campaign the most organized, positive, and grass roots oriented campaign this year,” Cole added. “My campaign will continue to do what it has been doing for eight months: talking to my neighbors and fellow District 67 residents about what they want and need in a State Representative. I’m proud to have the support and endorsements of people who actually live in District 67 and will be participating in my campaign and voting.”
