Last night, Bree Hafen's quest for a spot on Fox TV’s So You Think You Can Dance came to an end.
After charming the judges in her Dallas audition, McKinney's 29-year-old stay-home mother of two was released in round two of the four-day audition process in Las Vegas. Competing with 180 other dancers, Bree made it through the first round in which dancers were asked to perform their own solos.
One-fourth of the contestants were then let go and the remaining dancers moved on to the first choreography round in which two of the show's alums, Twitch and Comfort, taught a hip-hop routine.
Upon her release, Bree stated, “I have two beautiful kids to go home to. Because truthfully, in my life, that’s what really matters most.”
The four-day audition process is very intense. Dancers must get out of their comfort zone and learn different genres such as Broadway, Ballroom, and Contemporary. The contestants do not get a lot of sleep as they have to create and choreograph a group dance, as well as continue to learn new routines.
Nigel Lythgoe, the show’s Executive Producer and Judge, has stated that this year there were so many great dancers, that they are looking for unique personalities to get on the show. The final list of contestants will be announced on next week’s episode. So You Think You Can Dance airs Wednesdays on Fox at 7 p.m.
