11:52, They Said "I DO!"

Submitted by AmyLynn Events

December 31, 2011, started off as any other New Year’s Eve. Good friends, food and drink were the order of the night.

Friends and guest began arriving at 7pm, when Kurt approached Randall, saying he wanted to propose to his girlfriend that night and would we help?

Of course!!!!!

What is a New Year’s Eve party without a marriage proposal!!!!!

So, with the help of Randall’s wife Kat, we secretly planned Kurt’s proposal to Rebecca. We set a heart shaped stump under the mistletoe in the tree, dimmed the lights, and waited……

At 8:30 pm, a very nervous Kurt called Rebecca over to the tree stump. He has asked us not to crowd around while he did this, but hey, they are good friends and make an adorable couple. We could not resist. We are pretty sure she knew something was up.

Kurt got down on bended knee and asked if she would make him even happier. After getting over the shock, Rebecca of course said “YES!”

Celebratory hugs and kisses and toasts spread through the guests and the night continued on.

“You know, my husband is an ordained minister”, said one of the neighbors.  “And if we hurry, we can get this done and they can have a tax write off!”

After a few laughs, we looked around and realized we have a photographer, and a DJ, and a wedding planner.   You know what?  We COULD really do this! We even had THE DRESS!!!!!

So, Randall pulled Kurt aside and filled him in while Kat and Amy took the bride to show her Kat’s dress. Guess what!?!?!? The dress was a PERFECT FIT!!!!!!

Hmmm, a wedding???  Tonight ?  Maybe!

So we spoke with the minister, who agreed. The photographer got his gear together, the DJ got the music together, and Kurt was ready to start.

Rebecca looked beautiful, and her smile matched her happiness.

So, at 11:42, with everyone assembled in the magically lit back yard, Randall walked the bride out the back door. Kurt looked marvelous but was a bit shocked, and their guests were honored t be asked to be a part of this special day.

At 11:52, Kurt and Rebecca said “I DO!”

Even with three hours’ notice, AmyLynn Events can help pull together your special day! We wish Kurt and Rebecca all the happiness in the world!
