Submitted by Sally Huggins, Medical Center of McKinney

Medical Center of McKinney will present a $55,000 grant to the Children & Community Health Center (CCHC) McKinney to help fund a part-time nurse practitioner for the clinic, which will increase clinic hours from 24 to 40 hours per week.

“Our relationship with the Children & Community Health Center helps us realize a healthier community,” said Ernest Lynch, chief executive officer at the Medical Center of McKinney. “Much like CCHC, we believe everyone deserves good health and we have provided state-of-the-art care to the medically underserved in our area for decades.”

Medical Center of McKinney has made cash donations of $111,100 to CCHC since 2005. And since the clinic’s inception eight years ago, Medical Center of McKinney has provided more than $500,000 in imaging and testing services to the clinic’s patients, and has helped the clinic defray operating expenses by subsidizing
their rent by more than $240,000. Collectively, Medical Center of McKinney has supported CCHC by more than $850,000.

The financial support helps ensure that community members of McKinney and surrounding areas receive basic
and routine healthcare, medications, lab work and x-rays.

“We sincerely appreciate the significant support from Medical Center of McKinney,” said Mollie McCune,
president of the board for Children & Community Health Center McKinney. “Through their donations, we’re
able to offer basic health care with dignity and compassion as we strive to build a stronger and healthier
community of neighbors. CCHC is truly a health home for our patients.”
