McKinney Fire Chief Danny Kistner announced today that Battalion Chief Dwayne Henderson has been appointed Interim Fire Marshal following the recent retirement of John Nickles.
Henderson joined the McKinney Fire Dept. in 1996 and has subsequently promoted to his current rank of Battalion Chief in charge of Planning and Development. He holds certifications through the State of Texas as a Master Firefighter, Intermediate Instructor, Basic Inspector, and is a licensed Paramedic.
According to Kistner, “Chief Henderson, as the officer responsible for the oversight of the office of the Fire Marshal/Life Safety and Risk Reduction will fulfill the role of Fire Marshal for the foreseeable future. He will facilitate a smooth transition following the retirement of John Nickles, ensuring that our customers and citizens continue to receive the highest level of customer service; and, that life safety and community risk reduction efforts remain the top priority of this area of Fire Department operations.”
