Celebrate Cinco de Mayo this weekend in McKinney with a free concert and dance at Old Settler’s Recreation Center, 1201 E. Louisiana St. On Saturday, May 5, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., attendees at this free event will enjoy live music by Mariachi Michoacan, theatrical presentation by Teatro Dallas and other festive activities.
Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican army's defeat of French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, and today many celebrate Mexican heritage and pride on this holiday.
