The Texas High School coaches met this weekend to vote on all-district and all-state awards for Texas High School DII Lacrosse. Between the four districts in Texas, there are a total of 45 DII teams from which players can be selected.
We had five of our McKinney Varsity Boys selected for various honors.
#9 - Brody Kovacs - Honorable mention All-District Attackman
#26 - Griffin Shelnutt - Honorable mention All-District Defense
#13 - Kevin Callis. Selected as All District First Team Defense. Kevin has led the defense this year by bringing a level of intensity to the long pole position.
#6 - Cameron Close. Selected as All-State First Team Middie. Cameron is leading the Varsity squad this year with 46 total points coming from 37 goals and 9 assists. He has also tallied 34 ground balls
#8 - Johnny Santos. Selected as All-State First Team Middie. Johnny has contributed 38 points with 30 goals and 8 assists, while leading the team with 77 ground balls and 97 face-off wins.
Congratulations to these athletes for being selected to the All-District and All-State teams.
