Prosper Police released Pilar Sanders Tuesday after her arrest on a misdemeanor charge of assault. Pilar is the wife of former Dallas Cowboys defensive back and pro football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders.
She told CNN.com that she hasn't been given a "fair shake" over charges that she attacked him. For CNN's story about her release, please click here.
Deion Sanders was actually the inside reporter on this story, with his posts on Twitter. But, first, some background ...
Deion Sanders filed for divorce in December 2011. In March 2012, Pilar sued him for $200 million, and that suit has roots on Twitter, too. Pilar says Deion posted libelous and slanderous comments about her.
Here's a sample of Deion's Tweets at @DeionSanders so far ...
Monday: "Pray for me and my kids now! They just witnessed their mother and a friend jump me in my room. She's going to jail n I'm pressing charges!"
Tuesday morning: "God is faithful! Thank u all for your prayers, support n Love. A testimony only comes after a test. Truth"
"Strength isn't only based on what u can lift, push, pull, press, carry, hold or squat. Its also measured by WHAT U CAN WALK AWAY FROM! TRUTH"
Police in the Town of Prosper, Texas, north of Dallas in Collin County, filed a charge of simple assault against Deion Sanders on Tuesday, with a fine of up to $500 but did not arrest him. Police said this charge does not warrant an arrest. It includes any act considered aggressive. Police said Dianna Boswell, Pilar's friend, also was charged with simple assault.
The charge against the former Dallas Cowboys and NFL Network analyst came after his wife Pilar was arrested Monday on an assault charge. Deion told police he was attacked in his Prosper home. Pilar stayed overnight in the Collin County Jail Monday before being released Tuesday.
Pilar's statement: Outside the jail in McKinney, Texas, on Tuesday, she told reporters, "'I'm a full-time mom, 100 percent for my children. And I just haven't been given a fair shake.''
Time to cool off: Magistrate Judge Paul Raleeh barred her from threatening or harassing Deion and ordered her to stay away from their home for 60 days. Despite the divorce, they were each living in the home in Prosper.
The family: Deion and Pilar have three children together. Deion has two more children from a former marriage.
The lawsuits: Pilar has a suit scheduled for trial in September 2012 against Deion, Prime Time Enterprise Inc. and a daughter from his first marriage, Deiondra Sanders.
The second suit by Pilar is against Laura Jones, accusing her of assaulting Pilar in February 2012. Jones is Deion's aunt.
