Volunteer McKinney Center announced several opportunities this week.
• Observation Station. The Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary offers a question-and-answer spot on Saturday and Sunday afternoons where youth collectors can bring all types of science and natural items. Volunteers over the age of 16 are needed to talk and share information with participants about their items. Training is provided. If you have a broad interest in science and nature, this is a great volunteer opportunity. For more information, look for “Observation Station Volunteer” on the VMC web site.
• Office Assistant. Free to Be, an organization that make presentations to high school students encouraging them to become active and involved citizens, is seeking a part-time office assistant. Duties include assembling mail outs, submitting grant proposals, copying, and web browsing. The volunteer must be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel, can work from home or from the office, and may later be considered for a full-time position. You can find additional information on the VMC web site. Look for “Part Time Office Assistant.”
• Form Development. A volunteer with experience developing forms using Adobe is needed by the City of Plano. The Commercial Recycling Department needs a digital document created for use with customers. An interview is required. If you are highly skilled in form development, please click on “Seeking Form Development Expertise” on the VMC web site.
