Former McKinney North basketball standout Kenny McGowen was named Second Team All-Big Sky this season while playing for Idaho State. He was joined by teammate Chase Grabau.
“This honor is well-deserved for Kenny and Chase,” Idaho State Interim Head Coach Deane Martin said. “They have worked hard and been leaders on and off the court for us. They played a big role in helping us qualify for the conference tournament. I am grateful for their hard work and effort that they have showed this entire season."
McGowen has also helped lead the Bengals this season as he places in the top ten for scoring (5th) and three-pointers made per game (1st) during Big Sky play. For the season, McGowen averaged 13.7 points per game, 1.3 rebounds per game, 2.1 three-pointers per game and 28.8 minutes per game. In conference play McGowen has averaged a team-best 17.1 points a game. McGowen shot 36.9 percent from the field, 76.9 percent from the free throw line and 31.5 percent from the beyond the arc.
Idaho State (9-20 overall and 7-9 in the league) opens play in the Big Sky Conference Tournament on Saturday against Eastern Washington.
