It's time to celebrate! McKinney's Hollie Cavanagh has advanced to the Top 12 Girls on American Idol.
Please join us for an American Idol Watch Party, Wednesday, February 29th, at 7 p.m. at The Pub, which is located at 204 W. Virginia St. in Historic Downtown McKinney.
Because this event is prior to 9 p.m., children are welcome to attend. Feel free to make and bring your best Hollie-tastic posters, so we can share our hometown love and support (not to mention votes!) with our very own Idol.
Hollie, a 2011 McKinney Boyd High School graduate, learned of her advancement in the final moments of last week's nail-biting finale. This is Hollie's second shot at Idol fame, having advanced to the top 40 last year. Despite being a favorite of Idol judge Jennifer Lopez, Hollie did not advance in Season 10. Once home, however, she quickly set about the business of taking the sage advise of Idol's panel of judges, doing and learning those things they encouraged her to do. Now, with another year of experience under her belt, Hollie is one to watch in Season 11, and her adopted hometown of
McKinney, Texas is here to cheer her on.
Originally from Liverpool, England, Hollie and family have been residents of McKinney for the past eleven years. She is the daughter of Peter and Lorraine Cavanagh, and sister to Luke and Aaron.
