You'll soon get to vote for McKinney's own American Idol.
Hollie Cavanagh, 18, qualified for the FOX hit television show's top 24, shown in a taped episode that aired Thursday night. The live shows, where viewers vote for their favorite contestants, begin next week.
The boys contestants will perform next Tuesday, Feb. 28, while the girls will perform Wednesday, Feb. 29.
Cavanagh, who went to McKinney Boyd, earned a "golden ticket" last season, which means she passed her audition and was sent to Hollywood, but she did not qualify for the top 24 once there. This year, she did!
In an interview with TSB last year, Cavanagh said she'd lived in McKinney about 10 years after her family moved from Liverpool, England, where she's originally from.
