Hey peeps! I hope none of you are experiencing a post Super Bowl hangover or revenge from too many chips, hot wings and pizza!
So, time to get to the subject at hand - what's up around town?
Emails are flying about Presidential candidate Rick Santorum, who will be in town on Wednesday, Feb. 8 and may stop by the Starbucks in Adriatica, from 9-9:30 a.m. Apparently Santorum is speaking to a group of pastors at the Bella Donna Chapel in Adriatica. Admittance to the chapel is by invitation only. Outside, there will be a TV showing his presentation where everyone is welcome to attend. It will also be streaming live from the Bella Donna Chapel facebook page.
On February 8, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Santorum will be at a rally for the public at Fairview Farms, 3314 N Central, Plano.
Rumor has it that the H-E-B grocery store chain is coming to town and will be somewhere in the vicinity of Lake Forest and Hwy. 380. My own experience with H-E-B stores in other parts of Texas has always been favorable, although I prefer the baked goods and meat from their Central Market division. Great customer service is part of their trademark. When I'm able to confirm, you, readers, will be the first to know - or maybe the second.
MOOYAH Burger, Fries and Shakes restaurant, which showcases the leading better burger brand’s latest menu and design, will be coming to the west side of McKinney in March. The restaurant will be located at 3201 El Dorado Pkwy on the corner of El Dorado Parkway and Hardin Boulevard. Moo.
Scooters, the new coffee company in the space formerly occupied by Saxby's, has opened their drive through window. The interior, for coffee lovers who like to meet and greet, should open sometime in March.
Updated 2/7/12 -- Palio's Pizza Cafe is NOT moving into the location where Cadillac Pizza was housed on S. Kentucky St in downtown McKinney. Please see the comment from Cadillac Pizza owner in the comments below.
Kirkland's, known for home decor and gift items, is leaving McKinney soon - this could be the last week that they are open. Located at 2851 Craig Drive, you might want to run by and see if they have any terrific bargains. Yeah, right?
Did I mention coffee? Word around the square is that another new coffee show is brewing next door to La Misha, on the south side. More details to come.
Well peeps, guess that's all my news for this edition. Have a most excellent week.
Till next time,
Cathy

I've got to tell you, I've
I've got to tell you, I've been waiting for Cadillac to reopen. We moved our office to McKinney square on Jan 1, and I'm thrilled to hear they're reopening soon. Will they be open for lunch? Either way, you'll see me. Their sausage pizza - I think actually their meat lover's equivalent - might possibly be the best I have ever had. I love it.
Hi Everybody- I really

-Reopening as Cadillac Pizza Pub!
-Serving up: Wood-Fired Pizza, Live Music, and Cold Beer!

AWESOME.... And I might add -- Music to my ears!!!! Glad to hear it will remain Cadillac's and continue it's great traditions! Looking forward to the Re-Opening on the 22nd.
From their Facebook
From their Facebook wall:
"Cadillac was not purchased by Palio's, we are a family owned and operated company, that owns the Palio's in the Frisco area. We also have experience in Pizza with another family owned pizza brand in Missouri. We can't wait for you to try us out, we'll keep you in tune to the re-opening!"
And...
"We are working very hard to make this place awesome. I assure you that the pizza will be even better than it was before. I promise. We are sourcing a local dairy for our cheese, homemade sauce, and keeping the same homemade dough, but we're adding one special ingredient for even more flavor."
I'm feeling a bit better now...Can you tell I love this place? LOL!
Thanks so much for the update
Thanks so much for the update and sharing this info that very positive! I can't wait to "chat" more about it when the place is finished and pizza is hot out of the oven.
Gnarly!
Thanks Cathy! Do you mind
Thanks Cathy! Do you mind changing your post to reflect the correct information. I just sent you a message with the info. Thanks a lot,
Preston Lancaster
Hold on! Just checked the
Hold on! Just checked the Caddy's website and it says it's temporarily closed to revamp its menu and give the place a face-lift. Is that code for sell-out to a chain?
Ugh...Palio's instead of
Ugh...Palio's instead of Cadillac?!? Say it ain't so! Please tell me Cadillac is just relocating. Love that place! Great place to hear music and grab a bite to eat or a drink. Would be a MAJOR loss to the square.
Does this mean that music is
Does this mean that music is gone from where Caddilac's was? The music venue there showcased local talent as well as young musican's and gave them a place to play and learn from the 'old timer's" that played there. Will be a loss for the comunity if a place like Cadillac's doesn't exist. Plus, I'll miss their pizza. Some of the best in town! Not a good start to the week. I only thought they were remodeling and making it bigger to for more folks to enjoy!
Hi Chatty - Don't forget
Hi Chatty - Don't forget there is a mooya burger already on Custer by WalMart. It is soooooo delicious!!!
Also, should we be concerned about the retailers leaving the Craig Drive area? Old Navy? Pier One?
