Raven Gutierrez, a senior at McKinney North High, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball at Grayson County College beginning in the fall of 2012.
Gutierrez plays third base at MNHS, but also played the 2011summer with the Texas Attitude 18U Fastpitch Club from Denison. During last summer, Gutierrez played catcher, as well. In 40 games where she led the team by throwing out 29 percent of would-be base stealers. She also accounted for 14 put outs and 37 assists en route to an 81 percent fielding percentage. Gutierrez was a key offense player for the 4th place finishers at the 2011 PONY Nationals in Round Rock, padding her .350 batting average and .506 OBP. She accounted for 15 runs, 15 RBI and 28 hits.
Gutierrez will join two Attitude teammates on the GCC roster: Middle Infielder Amelia Grimes of Whitesboro and Outfielder Kendra Hanson of Leonard.
