Members of the community honored the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Jan. 14 with reflection and service.
The annual Power Breakfast and Power Walk, sponsored by Collin College and the city of Plano, featured moments of unity and remembrance from local leaders and community members. Students Jordan Aquila, of McKinney, and Cameron Woolley, of Plano, were named the 2012 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Scholarship winners.
Also, volunteers took the afternoon to help construct a home for a family in need with Habitat for Humanity.
Collin College was awarded a $3,000 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service grant from the Missouri Campus Compact.
