The Dowell Lionettes won all three 7th grade girls basketball games against Denison on Tuesday night.
The Lionettes’ Blue team started the night off with a bang, winning 21-13. Alex Baldridge and Danielle Boggs combined for 11 points earning them the offensive players of the game.Yesenia Casas earned defensive player of the game, with 2 steals and aggressive defense. The overall player of the game was CeCe Clark with 2 steals, 1 block, 1 assist and tenacious defense.
The Gold team came out strong again, winning 34-21. The game’s top players included Alex Coleman as offensive player of the game again with 13 points and a few assists. Frannie Gall earned defensive player of the game with 1 block and having the overall best defense on the team. Carlie Kaufman was the team’s overall player with 16 points, 5 blocks, and 6 rebounds.
The White team pulled away starting early winning 30-2. Isabel Pate was among the top players for the night offensively, scoring 10 points. Kamryn Scamperle earned defensive player of the game with 3 steals and 2 blocks. The overall player of the game playing both ends of the court with poise under pressure was Tia Fields with 4 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 steal.
The Lionettes’ next match will take place next Monday evening against Prosper M.S. at Dowell. The Blue team will take the court first at 5 p.m., followed by the Gold and White teams.
