McKinney Independent School District (MISD)
1) MISD Night at Allen Americans Professional Hockey
On December 8th, the Allen Americans take on the Wichita Thunder and $5 from every ticket sold through will benefit the McKinney Education Foundation.
In order to get your discount tickets, and for McKinney Education Foudation to get credit, please use the promo code MEF at the Allen Event Center Box office, Allen Americans Team Store, ticketmaster.com or by calling the Allen Americans at 972-912-1000.
2) Speak Up 2011 – Student/ Parent Survey
Speak Up, a national online research project facilitated by Project Tomorrow®, gives individuals the opportunity to share their viewpoints about key educational issues. Each year, findings are summarized and shared with national and state policy makers. Surveys may be completed until December 23, 2011. If asked, the 'secret word' is MISD2011.

3) Royal Pride Band Holiday Concert
The McKinney High School (MHS) Royal Pride Band will perform its Holiday Concert on Thursday, December 8th at 7pm in the MHS Auditorium.
4) North Orchestra Christmas Concert
The McKinney North Orchestra will perform a “Castle Concert”on Thursday, December 8th and Friday, December 9th at 7pm in the McKinney North cafeteria. Come and enjoy 60 minutes of wonderful Christmas music and some light-hearted "Huzzahs" as the students perform some traditional favorites and a few period pieces. Admission is free.
5) Boyd Orchestra Winter Concert
The concert will be held in the Boyd Auditorium on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 - 7:30pm - 9:00pm and feature combined strings from the Symphony and Concert Orchestras and combined strings from both Chamber Orchestras into two full orchestras. The podium will be shared with Joe Nunez, Director of Bands, conducting the full symphony orchestra comprised of strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion.
6) Boyd Band Sprit Days and Winter Concert
The next Boyd Band Spirit Day occurs on Monday, December 5th (1st Monday of every month). Dine at Petra Mexican Restaurant and they will donate 20% to the Boyd Band. The Boyd Band Winter Concert will be held on Friday, December 9th at 7pm in the Boyd Auditorium.
7) Toy and Blanket Drive
Help the most worthy of causes by donating new and used toys or blankets to help the Samaritan Inn here in McKinney and the Children's Medical Center in Plano. Bring all toys and blankets by December 16th to Gym 2 and put them in the box labeled Toy and Blanket Drive.
