The Dowell Lionettes Eighth grade volleyball teams rode in to sweep the Sherman Piner Wildcats on Thursday night.
The Blue “B” team plowed through two games, 25-12, 25-6. Outstanding players for these three games were Audrey Broas for offensive with 17 serves and 1 kill and Maggie Scales for defensive player for consistency in passing. Lauren Breazeale was the overall player of the game with 1 kill, 1 save and court coverage.
The Gold “A” team closed out the set in two in a decisive fashion, 25-8 and 25-11. Overall defensive player was Lulu Hancock with 2 saves, 1 kill and 1 tip and outstanding offensive player was Lauren Watson with 1 save, 2 kills and 1 tip. The outstanding player of the game was Sarah Hodson with 2 aces, 3 kills (within the 10-foot line!) and 1 tip.
The White “C” team worked hard with great teamwork to win in two, 25-9 and 25-19. Outstanding all-around players for these matches were Whitney Gives with 3 aces and 1 tip for offensive player and Valor Haggerty for defensive with 3 saves and Taylor Smith for overall player with 3 aces, 2 kills and 3 tips.
Next set is against the Denison YellowJackets on Tuesday, November 1st, starting at 5:00pm at Dowell. This will be our Parent/Family Night celebration. One Heart, One Team, LIONETTES!

Dowell won the C-team match 25-23, 25-9.
