Broncos' Driskell Runs Over Sachse in Huge District Win

McKinney Boyd running back Bryan Driskell ran for three first-quarter touchdowns and five touchdowns overall to lead the Broncos past Sachse 34-20 in a key District 10-5A football game Thursday night at Ron Poe Stadium.

Driskell finished with 219 rushing yards and provided every score for the Broncos, who improved to 6-2 overall and 4-1 in 10-5A. Boyd is currently alone in second place behind Garland. Sachse was tied with Boyd but fell to 6-2 overall, 3-2 in 10-5A.

Rowlett is in third place at 3-1 in district, and the Broncos play at Rowlett next Thursday, Oct. 27.

The Broncos led 20-7 after the first quarter thanks to Driskell's TD runs of 2, 1 and 1 yards. His 15-yard TD run in the second quarter made the difference in a 27-14 halftime advantage.

Driskell scored on a 7-yard run in the third quarter as Boyd increased the lead to 34-14 before Sachse added a late fourth-quarter touchdown.

Jared Symmank added four extra points for the Broncos.

Boyd quarterback Curtis Ladd completed nine of 13 passes for 145 yards.
