Herschel Walker to Talk About Mental Illness at Collin College

Collin College will host former Dallas Cowboy and football legend Herschel Walker from 1-3 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 11, at the Central Park Campus Conference Center.

Walker is being hosted by Collin College’s Active Minds, a student organization that increases awareness of mental health symptoms, illness and provide resources for education.

In 2008, in his autobiography Breaking Free, the former Heisman Trophy winner wrote about his struggles with dissociative identity disorder.

The purpose of the event is to creative avenues for students to talk about mental illness and make them aware of symptoms in themselves and others.

The event is free and open to the public.
