
Week two of the middle school football season featured several big games, including a contest between the oldest rivals in town, Dowell Middle School and Faubion Middle School. Here are the results from Monday night's football action...
Dowell, Faubion 7th-Graders Split
The Faubion seventh-grade 'B' team narrowly defeated Dowell by a final score of 13-12. The players of the game for Dowell included Garrett Blackwell (DB/WR), Charlie Grossman (QB), Tervarin Lewis (DB), Terrell Proyer (LB/ST).
In the second matchup of the evening, The Dowell Blue (A) team defeated Faubion 38-29 to improve to 2-0 on the year. Players of the game for the Dowell Lions included Sam Fitzgerland (LB/TE), Jacob Gerard (WR/DB), Aidan O'Brien (WR/Special Teams), Mike Berglund (OL), Jack Creedon (WR).
The Dowell Lions seventh-grade teams play at Evans next week. The Faubion Lions seventh-grade teams play host to Highland Park in week three.
Dowell 8th-Graders 'A' Defeat Rival Faubion
The Dowell Lions eight-grade Blue team continued its dominance Monday night with its second straight shutout victory. In a battle of longtime rivals, Dowell crushed Faubion 17-0 just one week after the Lions dominated Johnson in a 30-0 win.
Next up for Dowell is another rivalry game versus Evans at Boyd auxiliary field. Faubion travels to Highland Park next week to take on the always tough Scots.
