MHS Falls Just Short of State in 7-on-7 Summer Football

The McKinney High football team won their pool play with a 3-0 record but fell short of the state 7-on-7 tournament by losing to Coppell 44-18 in a playoff semifinal over the weekend.

Coppell went on to beat Duncanville 33-32 in the championship game, as both of those teams qualified for the State 7-7 Tournament in College Station on July 15-16. Another DFW team, Plano West, previously qualified to the State 7-7 Tournament by going 5-0 and winning the Frisco Liberty Tournament on May 28th.

The Lions, however, had a terrific day. They defeated Denton 25-20, Allen 44-33, and Prosper 32-26.
